Selimiye Taş Ev was born of a mother's longing for the sea and for nature.
I was a new mother. Every Sunday I would come to swim in Selimiye's deep-blue waters and rest. Even when I was utterly worn out, I would surrender myself to the salt of that silk-soft sea.
In those days a dream settled inside me: to have a little place of our own, to wake with my face turned to the sea, to teach my children the language of the trees, the sea, the seasons… Inside the village I came upon the ruin of an old stone house. I touched it, pressed my ear to it, and almost heard a story from long ago — perhaps a child's voice.
The decision was not easy, but like everyone whose heart flows to this place, I fell for this garden. We tied a hammock to the trunk of an olive tree and, inspired by my mother's kitchen, built a natural, simple, loving home.
Later, we wanted to share this. Not a holiday resort, but breakfast with village bread and tea, a true connection with nature… We wanted to open a door for families who love the Aegean, natural living and simple beauty. To host guests who live this way, wherever they come from, and to inspire new stories — that is our whole wish.
